Purpose:

To support individuals in their path to employment and job retention by assisting in matching them with a mentor to increase their skills and opportunities with finding job leads for employment. The Mentoring Program Administrator /TRIEC Mentoring Coach will also market the clients through direct contacts with employers and work in collaboration with the team and the other agency mentoring staff.

Responsibilities:

TRIEC Database Data Tracking and Management

  • Completes a high volume of data entry, update and tracking in TRIEC’s database of mentor/mentee matching
  • Match a pre-determined number of candidates with mentors and achieve required service outcomes
  • Continually review and update the mentor database in order to facilitate effective matching, ensuring sector-specific mentoring opportunities
  • Maintain client case management files, follow up with clients and update required statistical reports

SfC Salesforce Data Management

  • Enter and update mentoring data into Salesforce on a regular basis

Mentee/Mentor Support

  • Provide mentoring to clients to support their employment and job retention goals
  • Market mentoring to community agencies, especially partners, to stimulate client referrals
  • Develop a mentoring recruitment and engagement strategy
  • Screen mentors and mentees and provide orientation to both
  • Match mentee clients with established mentor volunteers and monitor the relationship
  • Develop client service delivery plans that identify steps required to meet employment goals
  • Provided on-going job retention support to employed clients’

Secondary Duties

  • Research and update existing labour market information and community resources on a regular basis
  • Participate in agency marketing and promotion to various stakeholders including networking sessions and special events
  • Participate in the agency distribution, collection, and analysis of participant surveys and other evaluation and tracking procedures
  • Work as part of the agency mentoring team to ensure smooth delivery and coordination of services to clients
  • Participate in all meetings as required
  • Provide backup support as required within team and across locations
  • Maintain positive professional relationships and communication links with public and other relevant community resources
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery and present solutions to enhance services on an ongoing basis
  • Handle additional tasks as required by the Coordinator and Manager of Programs and Services
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Post- Secondary degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability in recruitment strategies, marketing to employers through various sales approaches and business acumen
  • Excellent facilitation and employment counselling skills
  • Experience in vocational counselling with adults an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and client focused skills as well as a positive attitude towards change
  • Demonstrated ability to develop goals and action plans with participants
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ability to deliver PowerPoint presentations
  • Initiative, energy and persistence to complete tasks as well as excellent time management and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of the current labour market, employer expectations, training and education requirements
  • Sensitivity to, and understanding of issues and barriers to employment faced by immigrants, the disabled, older workers, youth and other disadvantaged groups
  • Problem solving skills and resourcefulness to develop new ideas and methods in meeting employer and clients’ needs
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for the purpose of on-site visits is an asset

Time required: A 35-hour week, with occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
Start date: Immediately
Hourly wage: $19.82 per hour
Location: Toronto West
