Much has changed in our world over the past 5 years. Seemingly, hyper global connectivity has resulted in increased community mobilizations and movements while also revealing deeply entrenched inequities. Locally, our efforts to institutionalize diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) have increased exponentially with newly launched directorates, government actions, and formation of DEI positions and committees across sectors. It seems that there has never been a greater awareness of social justice issues. Yet, we are not where we want to be.

Overt expressions of lack of acceptance of ‘difference’ are also increasing. So as we mark our 5th anniversary as an organization, we are asking ourselves the tough question: Are we still addressing the same DEI challenges we had 5 years ago? If so, why?

Join us at RDR’s 5th annual conference where our keynote speaker will chart our course by critically reflecting on past DEI challenges and strategies as well as defining our emerging issues. The afternoon capacity building sessions will allow attendees to delve deeper into two anchoring strategies for advancing DEI in the workplace. Below are some broad themes we hope to explore through both the keynote and the capacity building sessions:

  • Has there been any impact of our collective efforts over the past 5 years?
  • What DEI trends and developments will emerge over the next 5 years?
  • How can we be socially innovative with our DEI strategies?
  • How do we work across diverse sectors and communities to move the DEI needle?
