Rexdale Women's Centre invites you to attend two virtual workshops that have been developed to further the work achieved by our Supporting Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence in RAP centres project. These workshops will provide an opportunity for organizations to increase their understanding and utilization of the resources, training materials, and protocol development process outlined and accessible through the rapworkers.com training platform.

Training #2: Direct Service Providers

RAP centre direct service staff offer an important level of support at a key contact stage for identifying crucial co-existing issues such as intimate partner violence. The project has developed a number of tools to enhance their capacity to effectively respond to refugee women and their families.

This 60-minute webinar will offer refugee/settlement direct service providers:

  • An understanding of the primary best practices (dos/don’ts) relevant to their work with refugee women
  • Important considerations and key strategies for speaking to men who have used violence in their intimate partner relationships
  • An overview of supplemental resources and tools
  • A forum to ask questions about the materials and implementation into the course of their daily practices
