Webinar: Good and Best Practices

February 4, 2020 - 11:00am to 12:00pm
Online Event:

OCASI - Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants invites you to participate in Creating Inclusive Spaces for Immigrants and Refugees with In/Visible Disabilities: A Webinar Series for Frontline Workers.

The settlement process can be especially challenging for newcomers with in/visible disabilities. This series of webinars allows the opportunity for frontline staff to learn and discuss how they can better serve immigrants, refugees and newcomers living with visible and invisible disabilities by understanding implicit biases, the different ways in which we understand disabilities, laws and their implications in practice, as well as good and best practices.

Webinar 5: Good and Best Practices

This webinar will look at best practices frontline workers can, and do engage in. We will be examining the ways in which we ca support each other, our partners, the communities we serve and our clients in order to help communities flourish. We will hear from our guest presenter who moved to Canada recently and is working to help other frontline workers examine ableism within the sector to create more inclusive work environments.
