Private Refugee Sponsorship 101: Practical Tools for Settlement Service Delivery

This interactive workshop is designed for settlement staff, service providers, and community partners who support privately sponsored newcomers. Participants will gain practical knowledge and confidence in navigating Canada’s Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR), Blended Visa Office-Referred (BVOR), and Government-Assisted Refugee (GAR) programs.

What to Expect:

Introduction to the PSR Sphere: Gain clarity on program pathways, processes, and how the PSR, BVOR, and GAR programs compare.
Scenario-Based Learning: Apply your knowledge in small groups through real-world case scenarios, assessing eligibility, support needs, and client pathways.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Engage with peers to share experiences, ask questions, and explore challenges and best practices in supporting sponsored newcomers.

If you encounter any challenges with the registration form or have questions, contact Vinofa Muthulingam at vmuthulingam@ccscan.ca.
