Summary:

Program Overview – Homeward Bound

WoodGreen's Homeward Bound is an innovative program designed to help women and their children transition from shelter life to economic self-sufficiency. The Homeward Bound program provides supports through employment training, transitional housing, on-site childcare, one-on-one counseling for the mothers and their children, and many other vital services. The program's primary goal is to support 76 women and their children to move into independent housing and to have employment with family-sustaining incomes within 4 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs administrative functions for the Homeward Bound Unit, as assigned by the Manager. This includes support to the Homeward Bound team as needed
  • Provides support for Unit functions, special events, information & outreach sessions, and inter-organization activities, including activities such as booking rooms and preparing materials
  • Monitors all program inquiries and provides appropriate follow-up
  • Provides accurate and timely word processing/typing of reports, minutes, analysis results, questionnaires, email, letters, materials, photocopying, data entry and other clerical duties
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of office supplies and orders supplies and equipment for the Unit as approved by the Manager and ensures all office equipment is in working order
  • Develops and maintains templates, worksheets, PowerPoint slide decks, and Excel files to support the work of the Homeward Bound team
  • Develops and maintains filing systems and data collection systems
  • Reviews online applications and follows up with applicants as per Homeward Bound protocols

Qualifications:

  • Community College/Business College Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of related experience

Employment Type: 1 year contract
Work Hours: 14 hours/week
