Position Summary:
This is a part-time non-union contract position scheduled to work 10 hours per week.
Responsabilities:
- Coordinates program activities with the coding instructors to ensure program targets are met.
- Designs and implements program evaluation process.
- Coordinates client intake and registration process, and monitors attendance records.
- Markets the Coding program to participants, employers, newcomers serving organizations and the community in general.
- Organizes and delivers information sessions for participants and partnering agencies.
- Communicates with clients to support them in connecting to online sessions and for other course related inquiries.
- Prepares and delivers course certificates to clients.
- Conducts pre and post course surveys to understand client needs and client satisfaction.
- Researches and compiles information on coding training needs, teaching resources and innovative instructional strategies.
- Compiles and verifies statistical and narrative reports required by funder and agency.
Qualifications:
- Community College diploma or equivalent, preference will be given to those with a Diploma in Computer Programming or related field.
- TESL Ontario certification is an asset.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months experience coordinating a newcomer skills training program.
- Must be able to work flexible hours. This includes evenings and weekends as required.
- Strong coordination, organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of Internet, email and Windows environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team setting.
- Verbal and written fluency in English, ability to speak another language would be asset.
- Knowledge and experience in the delivery of information sessions virtually and
face-to-face. - Must have access to a car.
