Canadian Centre for Information and Knowledge is a registered not-for-profit organization that aims to empower people through information and knowledge. Canadian Centre is looking to hire two youths. The job is for approximately nine (9) weeks under the Canada Summer Jobs program for the above positions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
• Reach out to encourage and engage youth and seniors to actively connect to resources and programming offered throughout the community.
• Recruit volunteers to activate the formation of the Youth Council, orient and organize various programs for the community development
• Oversee organizational event planning, coordination, and implementation, including budgeting, logistics, and evaluation
• Manage material such as camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects to produce a final film or video product.
• Enter and keep accurate records of relevant documentation in the database
• Process all incoming vendor invoices – matching against purchase orders correct accounts with consistent reporting and informative memo/description
• Prepare administrative and financial reports: Perform administrative and clerical works
• Perform other duties appropriate to the position as required
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
To be eligible, youth must:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• Have a valid SIN at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada by relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Ability to deal with others effectively: Good time-management skills with attention to details
• Superior expertise in social media platforms and passion for creating digital outreach
• Excellent written and oral communication in English; however, the ability to communicate in Bengali will be preferred
• Should be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision and is flexible to work on some weekends and evenings.
This hourly position starts in late June 2023 for 270 hours at a minimum provincial hourly rate. If you are interested can apply.
