The Computer Network Technician will be involved in supporting the daily technology operations of the Agency and will apply and develop their skill in network troubleshooting, systems support, and network infrastructure administration.

Reports to: IT Specialist


  • Building, managing, and automating highly available server environments
  • Troubleshoot network and user issues while following Help Desk protocols
  • Support core network infrastructure, such as performance tuning, backups, capacity management, hardware troubleshooting, and system maintenance


  • The “Career Focus” stream is restricted to Youth who have completed at least one course at a post-secondary institution
  • All work needs to be completed by March 24, 2017
  • Youth must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada, and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Not in receipt of EI benefits
  • Positions must be filled by Youth Interns who have not previously received funding from an OLA administered grant process
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Efficient word processing speed and high level of computer literacy; proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office and Internet
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational skills, able to set priorities and meet deadlines, manage a workload with time demands
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory or Windows Client/Server environments are an asset

Work hours: 30 hours/week
Rate of pay: $22/hr
