OCASI – Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants acts as the collective voice for immigrant and refugee-serving organizations in Ontario, and coordinates response to shared
needs and concerns. Our mission is to achieve equality, access and full participation for immigrants and refugees in every aspect of Canadian life. OCASI was founded in 1978 and now has 240 member agencies across Ontario.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Coordinator, Newcomer Donation Network, is a member of the IT & Digital Services Team and is responsible for identifying and building relationships to collect donations via the Newcomer Donation Network; developing and implementing a wide range of data management and coordination and a promotion plan; reviewing various promotion and data collection tools and evaluating the effectiveness of the tools in reaching targets. The Coordinator, Donation Network also identifies specific trends of donations and requests from Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) and coordinates distribution support as required. The Coordinator, Donation Network will be committed to and aware of equity, access to services, anti-racism and anti-oppression, gender-justice and anti-poverty as it relates to im/migrants and refugees. The Coordinator, Data Project works closely with the IT and Digital Services team members and external stakeholders to ensure the ongoing growth and development of the ODG.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and analyze needs assessment to identify priorities as the project evolves
Identify and outreach target organizations and locations and coordinate their donation data, with a strong focus on empowering SPOs to directly access the Donation Network
Coordinating the translation and review of new and updated content
Monitoring for changes in legislation/policies that could affect the trends and needs of the Donation Network stakeholders
Coordinate the development and implementation of an outreach strategy to increase Donation Network uptake and reach through the development of promotional materials including information sessions and virtual demos
Collaborate in monitoring the external environment and competitive position of websites
Contribute to cross-sector initiatives, work with OCASI members to ensure seamless service to stakeholders
Track and escalate technical issues and errors as needed
Make recommendations for technical and design site improvements
Ensure quality content across the project
Contribute to the development of funding proposals
Provide back-up and support to OCASI staff at various project tables
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree (e.g. social science, social work, communication, community development, im/migration & settlement studies) or equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience working in the non-profit sector
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a coordinator in a non-profit or community-based agency; and experience working in an information and referral environment
Understanding of the intersectionality of newcomers (i.e. racialized, LGBTQIA+, GBV survivor, (dis)ability etc.) in Ontario
Understanding of equity and access issues as they pertain to im/migrants, refugees, newcomers and racialized communities
Demonstrated sensitivity to other cultures and ability to outreach to non-profit, community- based and newcomer serving organizations
Understand the fundamentals of information and referral provisions as it pertains to human services in Ontario
Ability to determine the type, quality and quantity of content needed for the project
Excellent writing and editing skills, especially within a web context ability to write using plain language for the target audience
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Basic understanding of clear language and design as it pertains to web content
Ability to identify emerging trends and measure effective outcomes; strong research and analytical skills
Proficiency with computers specifically with Google and Microsoft ecosystems; familiarity with social media an asset
Proven experience with content management systems; familiarity with various web-based content applications
Ability to maintain respectful communication
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and demanding schedules
Good judgment, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment
Details:
Salary is $52,501 plus benefits
Full-time position based on 35 hrs/week unionized with Unifor Local 87M
This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to OCASI policies and guidelines
