The HR Director oversees our ACCES HR knowledge centres of Learning & Development, and Payroll, Compensation & Benefits and will lead, direct, and implement programs in these areas of HR.

This role oversees two manager level employees who deliver the learning and the total rewards area of HR. The incumbent will also develop and update HR policies and oversee HR systems and data integrity.

This role requires an individual who wishes to be deeply involved in actively shaping learning programs, partnering with the L&D Manager on needs assessment, program design and delivery, while overseeing the design of learning and experiences that enhance a sense of belonging for all our staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee HR Managers (Learning & Development, Payroll/Compensation & Benefits) to improve/update programs and practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR programs, leading projects to create programs, drive enhancements and support technology implementations.
• Expand the learning and development strategy and curriculum design to address the specific needs of the organization and participate in the delivery of programs in collaboration with the Manager L&D.
• Oversee compensation program, maintain job evaluations, salary bands, market evaluations, annual program review and administration of compensation practices within ACCES in collaboration with the Manager C&B.
• Review benefit and wellness programs annually, remaining on top of market trends and bringing proactive and innovative solutions to ACCES.
• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to HR.
• Develop and oversee HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
• Ensure that HR-related data is accurate and up-to-date and maintain appropriate records and documentation.
• Work with staff across the organization to further enhance our work environment and create a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
• Act as a role model and build an environment of collaboration, respect, and inclusivity, in which staff, donors, and volunteers, and the broader community jointly participate in and benefit from exposure to our organization’s mission.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• An undergraduate university degree in business is preferred.
• 8+ years of HR Professional experience with 5+ in a managerial capacity.
• CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
• Expertise in the learning & development field, implementing learning solutions.
• Effective leadership and management skills with a compassionate and human approach.
• Strong experience in program design and development, planning, implementing, and maintaining programs.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify recommendations and opportunities from data.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite with in-depth knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools.

We are currently on a hybrid work schedule, working in the office and from home. This hybrid work schedule is subject to change based on business requirements.
