Summary:

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing services that assist in the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking 2 Employment Access Coach/Trainer for the Employment Access Program (EAP) in Brampton to support the transition of newcomers into the Canadian Labour Market. One position is a Full Time permanent position and the other a Part Time (21 hrs.) – Leave Replacement position to May 2018.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client assessments and develop individual employment plans based on agreed upon goals
  • Provide individual job coaching and support related to clients’ employment needs
  • Schedule and facilitate pre-employment and post-employment workshops and special events in accordance with clients’ needs and program goals
  • Develop and facilitate computer and on-line training modules
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with community partners
  • Monitor trends relevant to the Canadian Labour Market and available community services to ensure up to date knowledge in both areas
  • Work collaboratively with employment focussed partners to ensure clients achieve their employment goals
  • Ensure all client and program files are complete and updated
  • Provide ongoing support and follow up with clients through active case management
  • Review clients’ employment action plans and update / revise as needed
  • Conduct evaluation on all aspect of the program to assess effectiveness at achieving desired outcome
  • Provide internal and external referrals as required
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical, narrative, financial and program progress reports
  • Develop and execute outreach plans on monthly basis to promote the program and recruit participants
  • Provide recommendations for improvement, development and/or expansion of the program to ensure proactive response to clients’ changing needs

Qualifications:

  • A community college diploma in Career Counselling, Social Sciences, Humanities, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in employment assessment, coaching and group facilitation
  • Experience in working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Canadian labour market and employment trends
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant internal and external resources
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated willingness to work in a flexible manner in order to meet shifting priorities
  • Good organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Ability to travel within the GTA (regular)
  • Excellent oral and written English skills are required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and internet applications
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car is an asset

Full-time:

  • Hours: 35 per week, occasional evenings and weekends as required
    Salary: $50,814 per annum, plus benefits

Part-time:

  • Hours: 21 per week, occasional evenings and weekends as required
    Salary: $50,814 per annum, Pro-rated
