Position Summary:

The Office Assistant provides services in the Reception area: operates switchboard; greets the clients and directs them to the proper departments or services; provides database entry support for our community programming.

Reports to: Manager, Settlement

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls
  • Refer clients to appropriate programs and program staff
  • Make photocopies
  • Send faxes
  • Provide data entry tasks for community programs
  • Technical support for computer, photocopier, phone lines, as needed
  • Arranges for letter/package delivery
  • Provide assistance, e.g., call TTC and get directions, for clients

Qualifications:

  • The minimum level of education preferred is a High School diploma
  • Strong ability to work in a team-oriented setting
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive workplace and an anti-oppression framework
  • Experience working with databases and data entry

This position is 28 hrs/week and includes a 3 month probation period.
