Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is seeking a Program Communications Liason who will support the program leaders to effectively communicate program goals, outcomes and impact with and for various internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to translate information into easy-to-understand content will be key. You are a trusted advisor, a part of a small team, and graceful when things change on short notice. Your previous experience working with diverse audiences will serve you well as you navigate the interesting complexities of the various programs offered at CCS.


  • Create targeted and thought-provoking communications to highlight special initiatives to position “CCS in the news” as an innovative organization and stellar community resource and partner
  • Create special reports, blogs, briefing notes, and social media posts and ensure each have mini-communication plans to support their execution
  • Be responsible for ensuring timely and coordinated media outputs to promote CCS and community services and programs
  • Provide engagement, communications and planning support to senior departmental leadership, and through them to their respective committees, on organizational and departmental objectives and issues. Support information-sharing activities
  • Work directly with the senior program leaders to support/assist in report drafting, copy editing, and generating impact stories
  • Produce background information and briefings on emerging service needs, gaps and trends for the Senior Team
  • Develop and prepare materials to complement existing engagement and communications resources; writes or adapts print, web and presentation materials; prepares budget estimates and develops evaluation criteria for same
  • Plan and coordinate implementation and delivery of communication and engagement projects by facilitating and/or coordinating meetings; liaising across programs to ensure all materials such as brochures, presentations, signage, speeches, videos, social and multi-media campaigns and segments thereof, displays, news releases, and/or training materials are produced on time and in accordance to internal protocols
  • Facilitate organizational communication projects such as Annual Report, newsletters, and other organization-wide initiatives or campaigns with the dept leads of these projects
  • Support Program level events (such as COVID Vaccine Clinics, Senior Wellness activities, LSP days, Employment Resource Day), and Corporate Engagement activities (such as recognition events, annual milestones such as the annual general meeting)
  • Performs related work as required.


  • University graduation, with a degree in communications, arts, science or business, plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques relating to engagement, consultation and communications in all forms especially as it relates to governmental agencies, organizations and/or the school system
  • Considerable knowledge of writing and presentation techniques
  • Sound knowledge of the newcomer settlement services sector, and well developed understanding of issues facing newcomers as they relate to the work performed
  • Ability to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate communications and/or engagement strategies, programs, and events
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective liaison and working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to represent CCS organizational objectives to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to develop and implement concepts and themes and to coordinate production and delivery of a variety of communications and/or engagement material
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of internal and external contacts using various online platforms and technology
  • Ability to prepare budget estimates, administer and control an approved budget; and to prepare and maintain records, reports, correspondence and related material.

Location: Toronto
Reports to: Director of Programs and Services
Salary: $52,000 - $55,000 (pro-rated) per annum
Hours of work: 35 hrs. per week. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required
Contract period: January 03, 2022 – June 31, 2022 (with a potential for extension)
