Develop and deliver a project to increase community capacity to address racism, discrimination and related intolerance. Activities include  a) survey community organizations to identify their existing capacity to address racism, discrimination and related intolerance, b) revise, update  and coordinate translation of tools developed by Colour of Poverty-Colour of Change, c) plan, coordinate, and facilitate training workshops for community partners.


  • Create and maintain project timelines to ensure all tasks are implemented in a timely fashion
  • Work with approved budgets and provide financial accounts on a regular basis
  • Conduct all logistics, promotion and research work for project including social media outreach
  • Outreach and recruit participants and volunteers for various aspects of the project
  • Liaise and consult with subject matter experts to organize training forums
  • Maintain positive working relationships with project partners in various communities
  • Develop, organize and conduct training materials and workshops
  • Work through an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and anti-oppressive framework and with an equity lens
  • Build, foster and strengthen partnerships with organizations and the community


  • Experience working with community members, community organizations and agencies to address issues faced by racialized communities
  • Sound understanding of, and experience working for, access, equity and inclusion in community programs
  • Demonstrated project management and implementation skills, including the management of external stakeholder groups, and meeting multiple project deadlines
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with developing web based and social media content including graphics, videos and podcasts
  • Experience in web and social media promotion across various platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Experience working from an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and fuller anti-oppressive perspective
  • Awareness of systemic barriers faced by equity-seeking groups; either from first-hand experience, work and/or educational background
  • Prior experience with developing and facilitating training is an asset
  • Willingness to occasionally travel outside the GTA

Contract: 8-month contract position, 24 hours per week (including some weeknights and weekends)
Pay Rate: $25/hour (plus 6% benefits)
Start date: Immediate
