Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager will lead all aspects of the project life cycle, from planning to implementation and evaluation, while working with the Project Director to set project timelines, coordinate activities, and ensure the project remains on time and on budget. The Project Manager supports and monitors project progress against metrics, timelines, and plans; actively identifies and resolves issues affecting timely and successful completion of the project, and as needed, escalates issues to the Project Director.

  • The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the project and resources ranging from booking delivery sites, to hiring and supervising staff, curriculum design, materials production, course delivery and reporting. The Project Manager will act in collaboration with both the Project Director and the Co-op Placement Coordinator to operate as the management team and together, ensure success of the program.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical, resource and financial feasibility.
  • Create and direct all project management documents, detailing all facets of the project - team
    responsibilities, goals, timelines, risks, and esources. Track and report progress to the supervisor.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, risks, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities, and is able to rapidly shift focus in response to changing priorities.
  • Lead discussion on project progress and present to senior management on key milestones.
  • Measure performance using created project management tools and techniques. Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Create and deliver reports on timelines, budgets, student recruitment, retention and completion to the Program Director for distribution to management, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the securing and assignment of facilities at all sites where the project will be delivered.
  • Collaborate with the Project Director in promoting all aspects of the program to all stakeholder groups using traditional and social media methods, as well as marketing efforts where appropriate.
  • Oversee the delivery of student and co-op placement and employer recruitment.
  • Hire or re-assign existing instructional staff pending approval by the Project Director.
  • Oversee staff in curriculum design, course materials selection/creation & instructional classroom delivery.
  • Quality assurance – prioritizes accuracy and thoroughness in the capturing, organizing, maintaining and reporting of all relevant data, forms, statistics and databases.
  • Takes initiative to work with their team to identify and close service gaps.

Qualifications / Required Experience / Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree required with a focus on; Public Health/Policy, Community and Health Services Navigation, Strategy and Planning, Business or related discipline preferred.
  • Additional certification in Project Management or PMP designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Experience with project management processes and best practices, as well as corporate level reporting.
  • Strong leadership, adaptability, interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential for this role, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Experience with workflow, process analysis and measurement of project performance.
  • Strong team leadership skills, including ability to inspire and build confidence in others, support negotiations, resolve conflict and creatively solve problems.
  • Commitment to and understanding of equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression principles and practices.
  • Demonstrable understanding of cultural responsiveness, AOP/anti-racist approach, empowerment-oriented practice, client-centred approach, trauma and violence-informed care.
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to participate and lead meetings and/or case conferences.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians.
  • Ability to accurately collect, manage and report data on a regular basis.
  • Team-player who is capable of working independently while applying a creative and forward thinking approach to their work.
  • Must have demonstrable technical skills including use of on-line platforms, (ie. Zoom, Google Meet, etc.), Google Workspace and traditional MS Office programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of skilled workforce integration, newcomer settlement service provision and employment supports, adult education, micro credentials, continuing education, federal and provincial as well as governing legislation and guidelines governing accreditation, or a combination of employment, skills and lived experience .
