Summary

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

We are searching for a Settlement Worker, Golden Agers Club to provide settlement information and referral services as well as programming activities for seniors.

What you will be doing:

• Provide settlement-counselling services, including assessment, information and orientation at CCS offices and other community partner locations.
• Use initial assessment of seniors to develop personalized settlement plans.
• Provide case management and supportive follow-up.
• Facilitate appropriate internal/external referrals to services required by clients that are not been provided by the program.
• Organize, plan and facilitate activities to address diverse clients’ needs.
• Provide online assessment, information and orientation
• Develop and implement community outreach plans to promote the services and activities.
• Actively participate in regular team and regional meetings.
• Maintain and update all client information in the OCMS database.
• Prepare and submit timely statistical and progress reports as required.
• Participate on agency committees and special projects as assigned
• Participate in agency fundraising activities as deemed appropriate and necessary
• Attend required agency activities and meetings

What are we looking for?

• Social Service Work diploma or Social Work degree from recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
• Minimum of 1 year experience organizing and developing programming for seniors
• Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues and policies affecting seniors
• Demonstrated ability to organize team activities and lead committees
• Fluency in a second language relevant to the community is an asset
• Experience in working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

Location: 3495 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough
Compensation: $28.52 to $31.74 based on experience
