The mandate of the Domestic Violence Death Review Committee (DVDRC) is to assist the Office of the Chief Coroner in the investigation and review of deaths of persons that occur as a result of domestic violence, and to make recommendations to help prevent such deaths in similar circumstances.

Since the DVDRC was established in 2003, the multi-disciplinary committee of experts have reported annually to the Chief Coroner regarding the trends, patterns identified and risk factors through the reviews.
