Ontario is providing more support for the not-for-profit sector in York Region, to better serve the community, promote diversity, and encourage volunteerism.

More Information:

Blue Hills Child and Family Centre will work in partnership with the Community Inclusivity and Equity Council of York Region to promote inclusive leadership in organizations across Ontario. They will develop and implement guides, tools, learning sessions and resources to help not-for-profits apply diversity, equity and inclusion practices at all levels of their organization. For example, they will train people across the sector to provide mentorship and leadership on inclusivity in their organizations.

Through its Partnership Grant Program, the province is supporting projects at 21 not-for-profit organizations across Ontario. Projects include developing a standard set of resources to help volunteers include people with intellectual disabilities in their organizations; promoting diversity and the inclusion of women in leadership positions in the not-for-profit sector; and promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion and engagement in volunteer programs by providing tools to organizations with limited volunteer management resources.
