Ontario Growing Agricultural Sector, Cultivating Jobs in the North

Ontario's Government is investing more than $350,000 in two agricultural companies in Cochrane and Timmins, creating or retaining five full-time jobs.

Investments include:

  • $177,767 for Greg and Aileen Hessels in Cochrane to expand their beef cattle farm by building a new barn and purchasing equipment.
  • $175,277 for Borealis Fresh Farms Inc. in Timmins to establish a high-tech, vertical hydroponic farm.

  • Since June 2018, the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation has invested more than $63 million in 501 projects, creating or retaining over 770 jobs.
