About the Presenters

Rochella Vassell has worked at Elder Abuse Ontario for almost four years as the Central West Consultant and Social Media Coordinator. She has been working with diverse groups of elders for 12 years to combat ageism and promote respect of older adults. Rochella is a registered member of the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Tamar Witelson is the Legal Director of METRAC’s Community Justice Program, which provides legal education and information related to women’s rights, equality and access to justice, in areas of family, immigration, criminal, employment and human rights law, with a focus on the diverse ways in which women may experience abuse and violence. Tamar’s background includes practice in labour, human rights, and Constitutional law, and a career in television journalism before becoming a lawyer.
