Refugee 613 Research Support Officer

This position is funded by the federal Canada Summer Jobs program to provide employment experience to youth between the age of 15 and 30 years old. The Research Support Officer will support Refugee 613’s community outreach work by working closely with the local Community Outreach Coordinator to undertake a special project to map Ottawa’s newcomer communities and diverse language groups. This includes assisting the Refugee 613 team in developing a plan for assessing information and service needs and identifying existing community supports and their unique eligibility criteria

Refugee 613 Administration Officer

Community Outreach Coordinator – Bilingual (English and French)

Refugee 613 is looking for a talented communicator and relationship-builder to help us with the Newcomer Info Hub project, a suite of digital services focused on increasing access to valuable settlement and health information. The Community Outreach Coordinator will facilitate the project’s engagement and community-building activities, and support the project’s knowledge generation and mobilization activities such as developing communications training, guides and other resources. The Community Outreach Coordinator will also lead the outreach and partner support for the Afghan Digital Service, a pilot project of the Newcomer Info Hub. This includes: maintaining existing relationships with service provider organizations across Canada and building new ones to facilitate referrals and information flow; assisting the project team in connecting group members to services in their communities; supporting documentation and data collection for reporting to the funder; and promoting the service to organizations and networks. This is a crucial role to support the Refugee 613 team in fulfilling its overall mission to improve the integration of refugees and newcomers in Canada.

Refugee 613 Communications Designer

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program to provide employment experience to youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years old. The Communication Officer will support Refugee 613’s extensive communications activities, geared toward keeping Ottawa residents informed about refugee integration and improving information equity for newcomers themselves, via graphic design and digital media production.

Project Coordinator – YESS – Youth Foundations Employment Project

The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the YESS Program and ensuring the program’s success. They are also responsible for the YESS Program staff, managing their caseload as needed, participating in business development and marketing initiatives, and supporting operational procedures. The Program Coordinator has to ensure that the staff complies with the KPIs and YESS Program objectives outlined.

Manager for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Program

The LINC Program provides free language instruction for adults and childminding and settlement services for immigrant and refugee families in the Ottawa community.
The Program Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of the program, including fiscal and human resource management in accordance with the overall vision and strategic direction of OCISO. Other essential aspects of the role include maintaining stakeholder relations and offering leadership to various community initiatives to support the integration of newcomer families into the community.
