Peel Multicultural Council (PMC) was established in 1977 because of the concerns arising from a Social Planning Council report on Immigrant Needs in Peel. A group of ethnic leaders joined together to facilitate positive community relations. PMC is a non-profit and charitable organization that promotes a harmonious multicultural society and its key service pillars consist of settlement and integration of newcomers to Canada, neighborhood development, health and wellness, education & training and employment support.

Employer Liaison

Employer Liaison under the Job Search Assisted Component of Employment Services (ES) will focus on assisting individuals who require an experiential placement to match their skills and interests with employment opportunities and employer needs through the Job Matching and Placement Component of Employment Services (ES) including training incentives and supports. The Employer Liaison may also provide Job Retention assistance, for those clients who need additional coaching and mentoring in order to maintain employment or to make the next step on their career path. The Employer Liaison role may be required to provide part or all aspects of the Assisted Services model.

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST

BMC has a variety of specialized programs that cater to specific demographics and focus on providing different services such as (Settlement, Mental Health, Youth Development, Employment, and Seniors Support) making BMC a one-stop-shop for needed services. The ES will act as a case manager maintaining a caseload of clients, which will include individuals facing multiple barriers to employment, newcomers, at risk youth, people with disabilities, Indigenous people and those supported through OW and ODSP. This individual will be conducting intake, assessment, referral, case management, pre-employment training supports, counselling and other related employment services for our clients while working in collaboration with community partner agencies to help the clients achieve their employment goal.

Manager - Settlement Programs

In conjunction with the Director, the incumbent is responsible for the overall supervision of the Settlement Programs. The incumbent is also responsible for planning, implementation and delivery of high-quality client programs and ensuring all processes are performed in a timely and efficient manner to provide a professional level of service. Responsibilities relate to program supervision, coordination of activities of a multidisciplinary team including liaising with program and agency partners, program planning, quality management and program standards, equipment/supplies/ environment management, committee participation and internal communications.

Career Specialist 2 - Persons with Disability

As part of Employment Services (ES), the Career Specialist 2-Persons with Disability role will assist clients, particularly person with disabilities (PWD) or in receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) with their employment goals, job search to m match their skills and interests with employment opportunities and employer needs including offering incentives and supports. The Career Specialist 2-Persons with Disability may also provide Job Retention assistance, for those clients who need additional coaching and mentoring in order to maintain employment or to progress in their career path. The incumbent of this position is required to be capable in all aspects of the Employment Services model.

LINC Teacher

Under the general guidance of the Manager, the incumbent will design, plan, prepare and deliver virtual or in-person English language instruction to adult newcomers based on LINC curriculum guidelines.
