Director – Newcomer Services

Reporting to the CEO, the Director - Newcomer Services is a collaborative member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Departmental Management Team (DMT) and is accountable for providing leadership and strategic direction consistent with the Indus’ strategic goals and managing execution to deliver desired outcomes. This includes the overall planning, development, delivery and effectiveness of programs, and the effectiveness of day-to-day program operations. The Director will build and mentor a high performing team responsible for a service-oriented culture that is responsive to the ongoing and emerging needs of the communities served by Indus. They will maintain professional relationships with community stakeholders and funders at all levels and stay current on region wide initiatives and developments in the sector.

Co-op Placement & Mentorship Assistant

Bridge to Employment for Women (BEW) project is designed to prepare immigrant women for employment and enhance their readiness to the job market that have emerged since the COVID-19 pandemic. It is developed using a holistic wrap around approach that encompasses four main components including a 6 week of in demand employment skill-enhancement, a 3-month co-op work experience placement, scheduled networking events, and one-to-one mentorship over a 10 month period.

Facilitator, Mobilize Ontario

The Outreach Liaison/Facilitator will coordinate all outreach activities and support the Coordinator with the daily operations of the project. The successful candidate will work with the Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate outreach strategies and pre-employment workshop materials to achieve the targets of the project as per the Contribution Agreement. The Outreach Liaison/Facilitator will recruit newcomers, prepare them for employability and provide ongoing supports as needed.

Employment Facilitator

Brampton Multicultural Community Centre (BMC) is a charity, established in 1987, that provides settlement and social services to newcomer, immigrant and the larger community in the Peel Region. Our mandate is to enable less advantaged individuals, families and groups in the community to achieve their potential, improve their life skills and build their futures. As an Employment Facilitator you will be working with adults and/or youth and will be responsible for workshop facilitation, delivery of curriculum, individual employment-related counselling and assessment; solution focused counselling, providing information and referral.

Youth Community Connections Coordinator

Peel Multicultural Council (PMC) was established in 1977 because of the concerns arising from a Social Planning Council report on Immigrant Needs in Peel. A group of ethnic leaders joined together to facilitate positive community relations. PMC is a non-profit and charitable organization that promotes a harmonious multicultural society and its key service pillars consist of settlement and integration of newcomers to Canada, neighborhood development, health and wellness, education & training and employment support.

The Youth Community Connections Coordinator perform as a member of the settlement team to assist immigrant, refugee and their youth in their settlement and integration process. He/She will conduct needs assessments, recruit and train settlement volunteers, make referrals, conduct workshops and information sessions, write letters and conduct one-on-one interviews with newcomer youth and youth. Individually and in groups, the incumbent will plan, co-ordinate and implement settlement-related activities and presentations for large and small audiences with the approval and in consultation with Manager, Settlement Services and other relevant PMC staff.
