Manager, Career & Newcomer Services

The Manager, Career & Newcomer Services will oversee the implementation of the Skilled Newcomer Incentive Bond Pilot Project and other projects as assigned. Funded by the Government of Canada, the Bond pilot project tests an innovative approach to address specific barriers faced by skilled newcomers to improve their labour market integration. This role includes leadership of a dedicated team, management of project budgets, reporting, and operational tasks. Relationship and partnership development with internal and external stakeholders is a key component of this role.

Job Developer/Employer Liaison (Microsoft Skills for Employability)

Our Microsoft Skills for Employability Program is developed with subject matter experts, including Microsoft Canada, ICTC, Sheridan College, and industry partners to respond to the demand for Microsoft Certified Professionals across multiple industries. This 6-week program will help ITIs receive customized support to access Microsoft's Global Skills Initiative, positioning them to successfully pursue 1 of 10 in-demand professions. In addition, providing customized employment services in personal branding, networking, interviewing, and social media profiling to strengthen the client's marketability.

Employment Services Manager

For the Manager, Employment Services position, we are seeking a results-oriented team player with demonstrated management skills in a not-for-profit environment. This individual will have exceptional team building, community engagement, partnership building, communication skills and strong Employment Ontario experience to manage our Mississauga location. Reporting to the Director, Services & Community Engagement, Peel Region, this individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of client service delivery at the Mississauga location with specific accountability for Employment Ontario services. As part of the management team, this is a non-unionized position.

Program Coordinator – Building Capacity of Frontline Settlement Workers: Mental Health and Trauma Informed Approach

This is a bargaining unit position. Responsible for ongoing settlement counselling and full scope of settlement assistance including immediate and settlement needs assessment, solution focused counselling, delivering group/individual orientation, information and referral provision, interpretation, and employment related counselling.

Mental Health Counsellor

Brampton Multicultural Community Centre (BMC) is a charitable organization, established in Peel Region in 1987. Its mandate and core business is to enable newcomers, immigrant’s individuals and families to achieve their full potential and become productive participants in their adopted land. As a Mental Health Counsellor you will be responsible for providing counselling and support services to newcomer individuals and families experiencing mental health issues. This may include confidential individual, family or group counselling, support for families dealing with mental health issues and/or referrals to treatment. Model of service is intensive case management.

Corporate Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant will perform numerous administrative duties supporting the CEO (40-50%), SVP, Strategic Partnerships and External Relations, Director of Achev Inclusion and Director, Corporate Sponsorship (when hired). Duties including; scheduling, writing correspondence, addressing phone or email requests, creating reports and presentations, completing spreadsheets, maintaining filing systems including Client Relationship Management Database (CRM), etc.

Director, Career and Women’s Services

The Director, Career and Women’s Services, will oversee the operation and implementation of a variety of programs and services including client career-development services with additional focus on Achēv’s Women’s pillar. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Programs & Services, the Director will work with team leads who are responsible for managing the daily operations of each project ensuring program success, strong client outcomes, employee engagement, and compliance with company and funder requirements. The Director will work collaboratively with other members of the Director team to contribute to, and implement, strategic goals and action plans utilizing their expertise and experience in career and women’s services. The Director will provide leadership, continuous improvement strategies, key stakeholder relations and support to succeed in achievement of our vision and mission.
