With 34 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected charity with a province wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends, and lead to employment. We offer a range of accelerated programs including mentoring, employment, settlement, language training, together with specialized programs for trades, women, and youth. We have a budget of approximately $6 million, 7 locations across the GTA and Hamilton with over 70 full-time and part-time staff and serve 14,000 clients annually.

Employment Facilitator

The Employment Support project will support COSTI Street to Homes clients recently housed and receiving follow-up services. The project will focus on developing/enhancing client’s employability skills, life management skills, vocational readiness, applied work skills and work placement opportunities.

Seniors Assistance Home Maintenance Brokered Worker Postions

Toronto Intergenerational Partnerships (TIGP) has casual seasonal work for reliable individuals.

YOU can help older and/or disabled adults with outdoor and indoor maintenance. The type of work includes -

  • Snow shoveling
  • Gardening
  • Grass cutting
  • Leaf raking
  • Light household chores
  • Other odd jobs

The rate of pay is $12.00 an hour for students and $15.00 an hour for adults (one hour minimum).

Accounting Instructor - Accounting Essentials Using QuickBooks

Program Description:

Accounting Essentials is an introduction to bookkeeping that includes clerical accounting, finance and general office administration. Each session includes a lecture and exercises to reinforce the concepts. Gain a strong base in the fundamentals as a good foundation for computerized accounting. This course covers the complete accounting cycle and is designed for those who are interested in working in the areas of bookkeeping, clerical accounting, finance or general office work, or are looking to review their accounting knowledge.

Accounting Instructor - Income Tax

Program Description:

This is an accelerated training course in T1 Income Tax Preparation. This course is designed to follow the general structure of the Income Tax Act. It will cover major income categories and applicable rules used to calculate net income for tax purposes. This course will also provide hands on training on the recognized tax preparation, UFILE.

This is a program specifically for new immigrant youth between the ages of 16 and 21. This program will provide youth with assistance in the areas of immigration & settlement, education, recreation and leadership

LINC Instructors

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking two Part-Time (12 hrs/week) LINC Instructors to teach morning and evening LINC classes 4 days/week at our Mississauga location.

Settlement Worker (Armenian-Speaking)

Program/Project Description:

The IRCC program stream provides services that facilitate social, economic and civic integrations of newcomers into the community and the society at large. Services provided include needs assessment, service planning, information and referrals, reception and orientation, translation, interpretation and introduction to community resources.

Site Supervisor, Trades Win Support Program (TWSP)

Purpose:

  • To ensure the smooth operation of the operating site and continuous improvement in service delivery
  • To oversee project implementation
  • To promote Sf C services and act as a liaison between stakeholders and Skills for Change as required including employers, community agencies and funder.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that clients are effectively and efficiently served by staff and ensure Service
  • Delivery outcomes are met
