University Settlement is a multi-service agency that was founded in 1910 and has the distinction of being the first community-based social service centre in the City of Toronto. University Settlement’s three offices are part of culturally rich and vibrant neighborhoods in downtown Toronto and North York. As active members of these diverse communities, University Settlement helps individuals and families to learn and grow by engaging them in social, cultural, recreational and educational opportunities. University Settlement is committed to enhancing the quality of life of the people in the communities we serve through our many programs and services. With a full-time and part-time staff of approximately 150, University Settlement has developed programs to address the needs of more than 10,000 users annually through diverse areas such as settlement services, English language classes, employment counseling, senior services, youth programming, homeless programs, music and arts education, and daycare. In addition, our main site hosts a full recreation centre with pool, gym and nautilus facilities.

Settlement Worker

Provide settlement services to low-income clients from all immigration statuses. The incumbent will also serve as a consultant, trainer and coach for all Salvation Army Corps and Family Services Ministries in the GTA (Oshawa to Mississauga to Newmarket) that welcome or serve newcomers. We offer and facilitate information sessions, workshops and professional development events, on subjects that involve multiculturalism, immigrants and immigration.

Career Specialist 2-Persons with Disability

As part of Employment Services (ES), the Career Specialist 2-Persons with Disability role will assist clients, particularly person with disabilities (PWD) or in receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) with their employment goals, job search to m match their skills and interests with employment opportunities and employer needs including offering incentives and supports. The Career Specialist 2-Persons with Disability may also provide Job Retention assistance, for those clients who need additional coaching and mentoring in order to maintain employment or to progress in their career path. The incumbent of this position is required to be capable in all aspects of the Employment Services model.

Employer Liaison - Persons with Disability

Employer Liaison, Persons with Disability, under the Job Search Assisted Component of Specialized Employment Services (ES) will focus on assisting individuals who are in receipt of ODSP or self-identify as a person with a disability, who require an experiential placement to match their skills and interests with employment opportunities and employer needs through the Job Matching and Placement Component of Employment Services (ES) including training incentives and supports. The Employer Liaison may also provide Job Retention assistance, for those clients who need additional coaching and mentoring in order to maintain employment or to make the next step on their career path. The Employer Liaison role may be required to provide part or all aspects of the Assisted Services model.

Community Housing Program Support Worker

For over 50 years, Nellie’s has been providing shelter and support for marginalized women and their children in the Greater Toronto Area. We are mandated to operate programs and services for women and children who had or are experiencing violence, poverty, and homelessness. Nellie’s works to lessen homeless for women and their children whether the cause is family violence, mental health, or any other reason that results in dealing with the impact from trauma. In addition to providing shelter, our programs are designed to reduce the isolation that often comes with abuse.
