Employment Counsellor - NSLT

Responsible for facilitating workshops and delivering one-on-one employment for eligible clients. This includes the delivery of job search workshops, individual employment-related counselling and assessment; solution focused counselling, information and referral provision, facilitating information sessions on employment related topics, and matching with employment-related opportunities and professional mentor.

Casual LINC Instructor

To plan, develop and deliver Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada program. This position will be required to assume short-term or long-term responsibility for teaching a class and perform all the tasks of the absent teacher. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Newcomer Services.

Coordinator - Employment Services

The ES Coordinator is required to support and supervise the ES team with daily operations pertaining to all Employment Service components, including all key principles that guide the service delivery model. The ES Coordinator will work with all team members to plan, implement, and evaluate service strategies and organizational operating/business plans, to achieve the target of overall employment service quality as per the Funder Agreement. The incumbent will also ensure professional operation and availability of all resources, information and tools necessary for the successful delivery of the full spectrum of ES services.

On Call Resettlement Counsellor (Burmese-speaking)

The on-call staff is responsible for providing immediate and essential settlement assistance to Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) from various ethnic groups at the airport. The On Call Resettlement Counsellor is expected to work co-operatively with others; demonstrate flexibility in organizing work; show a high degree of initiative, discernment, and resourcefulness; must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate thoughtfulness in decision-making to assist refugee families. The on-call hours are not guaranteed and can vary from 0 to 21 hours per week.

PROGRAM MANAGER Newcomer Settlement Services

Reporting to the President, the Program Manager (PM) is responsible and accountable for leading the implementation, marketing, evaluation, quality control/monitoring, risk management, staff supervision and progress reporting to effectively attain the goals the Toronto East Newcomer Services program. The position will form and maintain working relationships with the PCPI’s other programs and with community service providers to ensure that the goals, objectives, and activities of the program are met on schedule. The incumbent is responsible for the management and delivery of high-quality programming and for creating innovative and good practices in services to seamlessly support the settlement and integration needs of newcomers. The PM will embrace the PCPI’s values and mission, and will promote its programs, support newcomers while concurrently helping to build and develop high-functioning teams to effectively deliver the services.
