Youth Employment Worker - Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) Program (two positions)

NYCH’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) program focuses on supporting newcomer youth aged 15-30, particularly vulnerable youth facing additional barriers in accessing programs and services, to acquire the skills, learning experience, and opportunities they need to find and maintain employment. The program involves a combination of continuous one-to-one support, workshop and training, and group mentoring opportunities.

Settlement Worker

This work will include one-on-one support services, referrals, program development & group session facilitation, program evaluation and translation supports. This position will involve travel around the community to increase the visibility of the project and to connect with newcomers, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Project Lead

The Project Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and evaluation of the ShockProofing Communities project on Gender-Based Violence GBV). The project will bring service providers from various sectors together to understand the pandemic’s impact on their service provision and on women accessing their services.

Placement Supervisor

ACCT is looking for full time skilled talent who thrive in a flexible and innovative environment. The position of Placement Supervisor is responsible for the development and maintenance of placement opportunities for clients who face multiple barriers to full-time employment. Reporting to the Employment Program Manager, the Placement Supervisor will work closely with the employment program to ensure successful job outcomes for program participants.

Settlement Worker (Ukrainian)

The Settlement Worker provides one-on-one and direct services which include referrals to various services within and outside the community and provide updated and well-researched information relevant to client needs. The position is responsible for conducting client’s needs assessment and for the development of a service plan jointly with clients.

Job Developer

The YESS Job Developer is responsible for developing relationships with employers and marketing clients in an effort to accomplish sustainable employment. The Job Developer is also responsible for seeking mentorship opportunities from employers, coaching and supporting clients. We are looking for an outgoing individual who is comfortable building meaningful relationships to develop connections for employment opportunities.

Career Counsellor

The YESS Career Counsellor offers individualized assistance in career clarification and goal setting, skills and interest assessment, interview and employment preparation; while offering a wide range of employment planning, resources, supports, and service components to youth with significant employment barriers within the GTA. The Career Counsellor offers services to the clients on a one-to-one basis, with emphasis on an individualized plan of action for their job search which includes, identifying and discussing employment options, establishing appropriate and realistic vocational goals and identifying solutions.
