Virtual National Roundtable: GBV & the spread of racism against non-status, refugee & immigrant women in the context of COVID-19

Description:

OCASI The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants is pleased to announce a Virtual National Roundtable on: Gender-based Violence and the Spread of Racism Against Non-status, Refugee and Immigrant Women in the Context of COVID-19.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, racial inequities are magnified and we are witnessing the increasing spread of racism and xenophobia across the globe. How does this virus-related racism intersect with gender-based violence against non-status, refugee and immigrant women across Canada?

We are learning about the devastating impacts of racializing the virus on communities across Canada, what is the role of racism in this crisis and how does this affect responses to GBV against non-status, refugee and immigrant women across Canada?

Join our national roundtable discussion to consider the importance of a racial gendered lens to address and prevent GBV against non-status, refugee and immigrant women across Canada in the context of COVID-19!
