The OCASI Mental Health Promotion Project (MHP) is pleased to invite you to:
Using Compassionate Mind Training to Respond to Difficult Emotions
- Date: Friday, June 16, 2023
- Time: 1:00 - 4:30 PM EDT
About this training workshop
Compassionate Mind Training focuses on developing and enhancing our abilities to respond to emotional difficulties with warmth, kindness and skill, whether it be our own difficulties or the difficulties of others.
Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to explore the meaning of compassionate responding and participate in experiential exercises that have been developed to help us engage in this way more consistently.
Humans are the only species that self-monitor in a particular way and while this has advantages, it is also a source for a lot of shame, anxiety and depression.
An increased awareness of our natural tendencies and how to engage in compassionate responding is helpful in reducing the impact of these distressing emotions.
