Funded by the Federal Government of Canada under Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), CICS is recruiting candidates to fill the following summer youth employment position in our Scarborough location.

Job Title: SIS Program – Community Services Worker Assistant

 Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist program staff (settlement, tenant support program and mental health program) to run workshops and activities
  • Prepare workshop materials, translating documents, compiling resources 
  • Create social media content on Canva
  • Assist program staff in facilitating and designing workshops content 
  • Outreach to the community and promote services under the Settlement and Integration team
  • Evaluating existing services and brainstorming ideas for future programs to address client needs and service gap
  • Develop a database for relevant newcomer service providers in Scarborough
  • Other relevant tasks that support program operation assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications: Post-Secondary 

Language required for the position:  English, Cantonese and or Mandarin

Terms and Conditions:

  • Salary: $17.20 per hour
  • Hours of work: 35 hours per week
  • No. of weeks: 7
  • Anticipated Start Date /End Date: June 09 to August 1, 2025

 Applicant MUST meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations;
  • International students are not eligible.
