*These are full-time Union positions scheduled to work 35 hours per week. Required to work from the office 5 days a week*

 

DUTIES

 

  • Provides employment counselling services to job seekers including newcomers, persons with disabilities, seniors, indigenous, disadvantaged youth and adults.
  • Ability to case manage 200+ client intakes per year, and assigned monthly job placement(s) outcome targets, conduct weekly and monthly follow up and monitors in the WCG – FFAI Integrated Employment Service system
  • Conducts comprehensive intakes and employability assessments with clients using the Common Assessment Tool (CAT)
  • Obtains and interprets the results of in-depth career and employment assessments and creates and supports client(s) through a personalized Employment Action Plan(s)
  • Maintains accurate records and reports in accordance with funder requirements, tracking client progress, employment outcomes, and program impact.
  • Meets and exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs), including job placements, retention rates, and service delivery targets set by funders.
  • Conducts Employer Outreach to develop and secure employment opportunities for clients, where appropriate initiates a Brokered Incentive Agreement (s) (BIA).
  • Keeps abreast of labour market trends and provides information to clients when conducting job search activities in person one on one and/or group sessions.
  • Administers and records financial support(s) for clients and employers using FFAI and internal databases and processes.
  • Assists clients to prepare and meet the objectives of the Better Jobs Ontario and other training Applications.
  • Writes rationales for clients seeking Better Jobs Ontario, Job Creation and other training opportunities.
  • Conducts 1 -3-6-12 monthly scheduled follows-up with clients, monitors and supports their progress and job retention to ensure their employment service plans are fulfilled.
  • Provides one-on-one assistance in resume/cover letters/interview skills as required.
  • Maintains up-to-date job search and social support information and resource materials to support clients and make appropriate referrals as required
  • Maintains electronic case notes/rationales in databases such as FFAI and CIS and service entries throughout the client relationship
  • Collaborate with Community Service Providers to foster relationships with these partners for intake and additional wholistic support services to address clients’ specific needs.


 

  • Conducts client service surveys at various check points throughout the period the client is engaged in service.
  • Facilitates structured employment related individual and group workshop utilizing various methods of engagement.
  • Assists with job fairs, employer and special events, and other duties as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Social Services Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • Completion of Career and Work Diploma or Social Services Diploma or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with job seekers from diverse backgrounds including youth, indigenous groups, visible minorities, newcomers, internationally trained professional, apprentices and employers and the community.
  • Ability to track client progress and manage program objectives according to funder guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including job placements, retention rates, and service delivery targets set by funders and program targets.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills, with experience in serving high needs populations
  • Self-motivated demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to identify and solve problems and know the difference with the ability to motivate others.
  • Experience in employment counselling, guidance and job placement with proven outcomes in serving multi-barriered clients.
  • Experience working with WCG’s system (FFAI/CaseFLO, MLITSD Case Management System (EOIS CaMS), an asset
  • Demonstrated experience delivering virtual services using teams
  • Must have strong case management and client employment action plan development skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job creation programs, education and training programs and subsidized training programs.
  • Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends.
  • Thorough knowledge of job search techniques, strategies, information and resources.
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and comfortable using computer packages such as: word, excel, email, Teams, internet, ability to learn new systems as required.
  • Level B Certification in Career Assessment tools is considered an asset.
  • Must be fully vaccinated or be exempt from vaccination on human rights grounds. COSTI reserves the right to require information establishing the validity of the exemption.
  • Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check. The VSS must have been completed within the past 6 months.
  • Will be required to work onsite five (5) days a week
