Addressing the Challenges of LGBTQIA+ Newcomers in Northern Ontario

The Positive Spaces Initiative is excited to invite you to learn and discuss the challenges of LGBTQIA+ Newcomers living in Northern Ontario. In this 90 minutes webinar, speakers from the Newcomer Legal Clinic in Thunder Bay and the Northwestern Ontario Local Immigration Partnership will discuss some of the barriers faced by the LGBTQIA+ newcomers in accessing services and supports in Northern Ontario, and share strategies on how to navigate these barriers. They will also discuss the particular impact of Bill C-2 and Bill C-12 (Strengthening Canada's Immigration System and Borders Act) on LGBTQIA+ immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
