Duration of the training program: September 14 - November 20, 2026. Monday-Friday, 9.30am-2pm, at this address: 2225 Erin Mills Pky. Mississauga.
- The first 9 weeks are training in a classroom and week 10 is for the job placement in a childcare centre (unpaid).
- The training is offered in-person only!
Program Description:
Bridging the Gap – Pathways to Early Childhood Education Careers for Internationally Trained Professionals (ITPs), is a new Polycultural initiative funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
This 10-week program supports internationally trained individuals with backgrounds in child development in becoming certified and employed as Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) or Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs) in Ontario. It includes career planning, certification training (CPR/First Aid, food handling, immunization), workplace preparation, individualized coaching, and hands-on placements in childcare settings. The program directly supports provincial efforts to expand childcare access and address workforce shortages.
Eligibility includes: Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees, Refugee Claimants, Naturalized Canadian Citizens, approved Provincial Nominees, and residents under emergency travel measures.
Participants should have at least a secondary school education and international training or experience in childcare or a related field.
