Free Pop-Up HIV Testing Clinics Available for GTA Communities

Résumé

GTA organizations are invited to host free pop-up HIV rapid testing clinics offered by OHTN and Hassle Free Clinic. Testing, counselling and follow-up care are provided. Express interest by August 28, 2026.

A free service for your clients/community offered in the GTA by the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN).

The Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) is partnering with Hassle Free Clinic to offer some pop-up HIV point-of-care (POC) rapid testing clinics. The HIV POC test is a screening test performed by a certified tester. The kit being used requires a finger prick, with preliminary results available within minutes. Confirmatory bloodwork may be required in some situations, and this can also be done on-site at the pop-up clinic. All HIV testing is available for free for anyone who chooses to test and can be conducted nominally or anonymously.

OHTN is approaching organizations to assess interest and capacity to host these pop-up clinics. The OHTN will work with your organization to coordinate these clinics. All testing materials, pre- and post-test counselling, confirmatory testing, as well as linkage to care regardless of result, will be provided by Hassle Free Clinic. Our hope is that these pop-up clinics will increase access to HIV testing for people who are unaware of their status, particularly members of Ontario’s priority populations. These clinics can act as standalone events or can be incorporated into larger planned events you may already have on your calendar. All clinics must be held prior to October 14, 2026

If your organization is interested in hosting an HIV POC pop-up clinic, please email me, Maria Sunil directly (msunil@ohtn.on.ca) no later than August 28, 2026.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
