JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a dynamic nonprofit organization with several government grants, a newly launched childcare program, and ongoing initiatives to diversify funding sources. This position requires strong analytical skills, expertise in Sage Intacct, and the ability to navigate complex reporting requirements for a variety of programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with program managers, external auditors, and the Director of Finance and Operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee financial reporting for multiple programs, ensuring compliance with distinct government grant and funder requirements.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports to program managers and senior leadership.
- Work with the Director of Finance on preparing the annual budget and program forecasts.
- Prepare month end journal entries, automating the process where possible.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts using Sage Intacct accounting software.
- Support the financial management and reporting needs of a new childcare program.
- Assist with the development and implementation of processes to track and report on diversified revenue streams.
- Liaise with auditors during annual and special audits, preparing schedules and supporting documentation as required.
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for operational decisions.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and report writing software for data analysis and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise with Sage Intacct accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, etc.).
- Experience with CRM systems and report writing software (e.g., Crystal Reports, Power BI) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and compliance with government grant requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers and auditors.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Operations
WORK HOURS: 35 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $35 per hour
EMPLOYMENT TERM: 6 month contract
