Project Worker – Senior (Peel Region)

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.

We are searching for a temporary full time Project Worker- Senior, Golden Agers Club in Peel region to provide activities for seniors to reduce social isolation, encourage active living and healthy aging, and strengthen seniors’ sense of belonging through inclusive and culturally responsive programming.

What you will be doing:

·     Plan, organize and facilitate group activities to address diverse needs of seniors

·     Conduct assessments and support seniors in developing action plans to address identified needs

·     Provide one and one support, and follow ups with senior clients to their enhance wellbeing

·     Facilitate appropriate internal/external referrals to services required, introduce needs-based community resources

·     Build connections with partners to host interactive activities and workshops

·     Develop and implement community outreach plans to promote the services and activities

·     Prepare and submit timely statistical and progress reports as required.

·     Others:

• Participate on agency committees and special projects as assigned
• Participate in agency fundraising activities as deemed appropriate and necessary
• Attend required agency activities and meetings

What are we looking for?

• Post-secondary education in Gerontology or Social Service work diploma from recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in the settlement and/or community work sectors.
• Second Language is an asset
• A valid Social Insurance Number and legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Successful completion of a background check and/or vulnerable sector check upon hire

Location: Peel, ON

Compensation: $29.67- 31.29 based on the experience

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required
