POSITION: Employment Services Officer
REPORTS TO: Associate Manager, Employment Services
WORK HOURS: 35 hours/week (in-person)
RATE OF PAY: $17.60 per hour
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Fixed-term contract (8 consecutive weeks) June 22, 2026 – August 14, 2026

Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic and service-oriented Employment Services Officer to support the Employment Department with client services and employment-related activities. The successful candidate will assist clients with job searches, applications, resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and access to employment resources, while also providing basic computer and office equipment support in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and support the Employment Department and other areas
- Provides information and orientation on internal and external programs to address clients’ needs
- Delivers introductory computer other mobile devices training session, 1-1 or group setting as required
- Assists clients with job postings review, application and online Job Search
- Assists with resume & cover letter development and mock interviews
- Helps clients with the use of job search materials such as directories, Interest inventory assessments and micro credentials access
- Assists clients, when necessary, with office equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Supervision & Mentoring Plans:
- Participant will be supervised by the Associate Manager, Employment Services
- Participant will be introduced to the staff and provided with an overview of the agency and the Employment Centre.
- Training will include Health and Safety, Conflict of Interest/Confidentiality, HR Policies, including inclusion and diversity.
- Participant will be oriented to the program features and equipment, intake and referral process, available resources and how to access resources, and reporting requirements.
- Participant will work with a staff member who will act as a mentor and coach.
- Participant feedback will be constantly generated to ensure that sufficient support is provided.
Health & Safety Practices:
- Participant will be provided with the mandatory WHMIS training and will be oriented to HR Policies and Procedures.
- Full supervision will be provided, and a designated go-to senior staff will be assigned to provide additional support.
Participant Eligibility
To be eligible, youth must:
· be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*
· be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**
· have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
***International students are NOT eligible participants.
