The Office Skills with AI Tools course is designed for new or basic users who want to develop practical office and digital workplace skills using Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and emerging AI tools. The course introduces learners to office applications and AI-assisted workplace practices to help them improve productivity, communication and organizational skills for today’s workforce.
This is a part-time non-union contract position scheduled to work approximately 40 hours (5 hours per week) for 8 weeks.
Classes will be delivered on-line or in-person. (Schedule will be contingent on student registration). Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (online delivery)
OR
Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (in-person delivery)
Contract extension dependent on additional cohorts being offered
DUTIES
- Work with existing course material to adapt, implement and instruct a modular training course focused on Microsoft 365 applications, Google Workspace tools and AI-supported office productivity skills.
- Teach learners how to effectively use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity in professional office settings.
- Conduct a needs assessment at the beginning of the program.
- Design lesson plans and learning activities based on learners’ needs and skill levels in support of the overall course curriculum.
- Deliver practical instruction on workplace communication, including professional email writing, meeting coordination, report preparation, document summarization and project organization using AI tools.
- Provide hands-on instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Google Docs, and Sheets.
- Develop exercises, demonstrations and final project activities that reflect real workplace scenarios.
- Prepare course materials, instructional resources and learner handouts.
- Monitor and document learner participation, attendance and progress.
- Conduct evaluation and feedback surveys for curriculum and delivery and make recommendations for improvement.
- Report to the program manager and provide regular updates regarding learner progress, issues or concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing adult instruction in Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace tools and/or digital skills training.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Google Docs, and Sheets
- Strong understanding of AI tools and prompt-writing techniques for workplace applications including email communication, report writing/summaries, scheduling and project coordination.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity in professional or instructional settings.
- Adult education, training or teaching certification is an asset.
- Microsoft Office software or trainer certification is an asset.
- Ability to deliver instruction through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
- Ability to adapt teaching methodology to the needs and skill levels of individual learners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
**Hours of work shall be scheduled in accordance with Article 12.01 and shall consist of four (4) three (3) hour days, Monday to Thursday.

DURATION: June 23, 2026, to August 15, 2026
SALARY RANGE: $31.52 per hour
