Employment Support Worker
(Full-time, Until March 31 2026)
Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.
We are searching for a Full -time Employment Support Worker (Skilled Trades) to support our clients in Toronto. This position will work to provide specialized, one-on-one guidance and group workshops for newcomers interested in regulated and non-regulated skilled trades careers. This role will also develop materials and resources that strengthen employment supports for newcomers interested in skilled trades pathways.

What you will be doing:
· Provide one-on-one employment support to newcomers interested in skilled trades careers
· Conduct career readiness and needs assessments related to trades and apprenticeship pathways
· Support clients with prerequisite planning, navigating certification requirements, and trade equivalency assessment or credential recognition processes
· Guide clients in navigating apprenticeship systems, including connections to pre-apprenticeship, bridging, and training programs
· Refer and connect clients to Employment Ontario programs, colleges, unions, employers, and community partners
· Design and deliver workshops on regulated and non-regulated skilled trades careers in Ontario
· Help clients understand apprenticeship pathways, labour market opportunities, and available supports
· Participate on agency committees and special projects as assigned
· Prepare and submit accurate statistical, financial, and progress reports.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the CCS internal database.
What are we looking for?
· Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences, Social Work, and Career & Work Counselling, psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience providing employment or career support to newcomers, youth, or equity-deserving groups
· Knowledge of Ontario’s skilled trades, apprenticeship system, and Employment Ontario programs
· Familiarity with credential recognition, trade equivalency assessments, or international education/experience pathways is an asset
· Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external partners
· Cultural competence and experience working with diverse newcomer communities
· 1-2 years’ experience in related human services work or equivalent, preferably in with employment sector
· A valid Social Insurance Number and legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
· Successful completion of a background check and/or vulnerable sector check upon hire
Location: In-person, Scarborough.
Compensation: $29.67 - $33.02 per hour based on experience
Hours of work: 35 hours (5 days) per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required.
