This is a part-time contract position scheduled to work 30 hours per week. The position is hybrid, with remote work and in-person attendance required for meetings, training, and stakeholder events.
DUTIES
Year 1: Curriculum Development and Pilot Training
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project team.
- Establish and consult with a National Advisory Committee.
- Hire and onboard team members including curriculum developers, facilitators, design consultants, and evaluation specialists.
- Conduct needs assessments with stakeholders and instructors.
- Oversee development of a comprehensive teacher training curriculum, including anti-racism and mental well-being toolkits, handouts, and resources.
- Supervise pilot testing and integrate revisions based on participant feedback.
- Monitor timelines, progress, and milestones.
- Oversee and track budgetary expenses in collaboration with internal finance and management teams.
- Maintain operational files and documentation; prepare reports as required.
Year 2 and 3: Training Delivery, Coordination and Program Evaluation
- Oversee national delivery of instructor training in 8 English-speaking provinces.
- Manage a Community of Practice and ongoing support to instructors.
- Coordinate bi-monthly National Advisory Committee meetings.
- Work with external evaluators to assess learning outcomes and project impact.
- Present project findings and success stories through conferences and online platforms.
- Continue relationship building and collaboration with community partners and funders.
- Participate in internal COSTI and external sector meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in Project Management, Education, Adult Learning and/or other related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, ideally in a federally funded or non-profit training environment
- Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) designation and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, adult education, and hybrid training delivery
- Experience in anti-racism frameworks, mental health literacy, and trauma-informed approaches in education.
- Experience coordinating with government partners, community agencies, and advisory committees.
- Familiarity with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working in partnership with not-for-profit organizations, such as settlement agencies and community-based organizations.
- Excellent communication, team management and leadership skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and promoting mental wellness in educational settings. Proven track record of managing complex training projects and the ability to navigate sensitive topics with empathy and professionalism.
- 3 years of experience in facilitating online and in-person information sessions and workshops, using virtual meeting tools such as MS Teams and learning management systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office, and Windows environment. Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Must be fully vaccinated or be exempt from vaccination on human rights grounds. COSTI reserves the right to require information establishing the validity of the exemption.
LOCATION: North York Centre, 1700 Wilson Ave., Suite 206, Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
DURATION: May 26, 2025 to March 31, 2028
STARTING SALARY: $58, 439 to $61, 794 per annum plus benefits
