Scripts for Front Line Workers for Collecting Personal Information: Applying for Support for Families Benefit

The following script has been prepared by Connecting Ottawa and Heather Neufeld to assist front-line workers to ensure that they receive consent for collection of personal information when helping clients apply for the Ontario Support For Families benefit remotely.

Government of Canada launches Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Calculator for Employers

To help employers keep and re-hire workers amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government is implementing the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS).  This important economic measure provides a 75% wage subsidy of up to $847 per employee per week, to eligible employers, for up to 12 weeks, preventing further job losses and encouraging employers to re-hire workers previously laid off as a result of COVID-19, retroactive to March 15, 2020.

PPE Information for Non-Healthcare Community Settings

Resources developed by the City of Toronto, Province of Ontario, and Government of Canada that provide information on when PPE is and is not required and how services can be redesigned to protect the health and safety of staff, volunteers and clients and reduce the need for PPE are attached.

The use of PPE should be based on organizational Occupational Health and Safety protocols and on a risk assessment that considers the risk of a specific activity and the source of the infection.
