Description:
Workers who serve newcomers around mental health issues often experience “ burnt out” symptoms, and this sector has a high staff turnover rate. Therefore, strategies for workers to take care of their own physical and emotional well-being are crucial. Join Connie Cheung, RD, for a webinar that will review how eating habits and food can affect our mental wellness. Connie will also discuss individual types of mood-boosting foods and ways to easily incorporate them into your daily eating. The benefits of “Mindful Eating” include improving eating habits, managing bodyweight and food cravings, and increasing awareness of how one’s relationship with food can affect their mental wellness.
Cooking Demonstration Connie will demonstrate how to make two delicious and healthy dishes that will incorporate the principles mentioned in the webinar.
At the end of the webinar, participants will:
1.) Understand how emotions can impact our foods choices
2.) Raise awareness of how foods and eating habits can help support our mental wellness
3.) Learn the concept and steps of “mindful eating.”
