Summary

The NCGPS project is a research project that aimed to test an integrated technology solution, CareerAtlas, in its ability to conduct assessments, career pathing, job matching and skills development for newcomers. Newcomer GPS Objectives:

- Support the settlement planning decisions of newcomers and enable clients to assess the skills and qualifications against real-time labour marker information relative to employment opportunities in communities across Canada.

- Provide a dedicated coaching interface that allows SPO staff to engage directly with clients they are supporting, leveraging data and intelligence at the system level.

For the initial rollout of NCGPS, OTEC partnered with subject matter experts in the settlement and immigration sector, including World Education Services (WES), Société Économique de l’Ontario (SÉO), and ACCES Employment. NCGPS has partnered successfully with over 30+ SPOs and connected with over 3,800 clients.

The event will focus on the project findings and showcase the success of this innovative tool that integrates AI technology to support newcomers in the settlement process and help newcomers thrive in their new communities.

The event will take place online via Zoom. Agenda and Zoom meeting details will be distributed closer to the event date.
