About Us
SettleNet.org | Réseau-Étab.org is the National Online Bilingual Community of Practice (CoP) created by and for settlement sector practitioners, bringing together and connecting all settlement workers in Canada. This program is funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada and supported by Canada's regional umbrella settlement agencies and some of the nation's largest settlement agencies.
The main objectives of the webinars offered by SettleNet.org are for settlement sector practitioners to:
- Acquire new knowledge and skills to improve client activities
- Explore new ways to deliver services
- Share challenges and successes with colleagues from across the regions
Workshop Information
- All webinars will be delivered in English
- Each workshop will last 1 - 1.5 hours
- Participants prefer interactive workshops in which they have the opportunity to share

- Understanding recent changes to Canada's immigration and refugee system
- Humanitarian pathways and responding to global crises
- What settlement workers need to know about immigration fraud and scams

- Labour market trends affecting newcomers in Canada
- Financial literacy for newcomers
Equity, Anti-Racism & Inclusion
- Anti-racism in settlement organizations

- AI tools for settlement workers: Practical applications and ethical considerations
- Digital literacy for newcomers
- Using data to improve settlement outcomes
Webinar proposals will be reviewed and selected by the SettleNet.org Team based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to the participants
- Practical applicability of knowledge, strategies, and tools
- Experience and expertise of facilitator
- Consistency with the goals and objectives
