PROSPER Canada. New funding for organizations supporting low-income communities

The Resilient Futures: Building Financial Well-Being for all Canadians Call for Proposals is now open. This Prosper Canada initiative, funded by the Government of Canada through the Social Development Partnerships Program – Children and Families, aims to build and scale up financial services for all Canadians, ensuring those living with low income have the ability to thrive.

Prosper Canada is seeking proposals from organizations committed to building community resilience, economic stability, and sustainable solutions for those facing financial hardship

Funding is available for different types of organizations:

  • Hub (up to $1M/yr in funding) or Partner (up to $300,000/yr) in funding: For organizations experienced in providing financial empowerment services (e.g., tax filing, benefits access, financial coaching).
  • Priority Population Funding (up to $200,000/yr): For organizations experienced in supporting the populations below, and who are new to financial empowerment services but looking to expand capacity.

Within both streams of funding, Prosper Canada is looking to fill critical gaps across Canada in organizations that are led by, serve, or focus on Black communities, First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and people living with disabilities.
