OCASI was formed in 1978 to act as a collective voice for im/migrant serving agencies and to coordinate responses to shared needs and concerns.
People outside their country of nationality who cannot return to that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group or political opinion.
