FREE seven-week training program for immigrant mothers to become a change-maker in your community.

MOtIVAtE is an initiative aimed at introducing newcomer mothers to the democratic process by engaging them in a non-partisan public campaign at Ontario’s largest school board. This program offers an opportunity to gain essential advocacy skills, connect with other inspiring mothers, and engage with the democratic process in a way that amplifies their voices and strengthens their community.

Why join MOtIVAtE

  • Learn essential skills in storytelling, public speaking and community advocacy to advocate for your own needs, those of your child(ren), and your community.
  • Improve skill sets, abilities and confidence to lead initiatives that can influence systemic change in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
  • Establish connections and relationships with other mothers and stakeholders involved in the educational system to create mutually beneficial networks and support systems.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To participate, you need to identify as a racialized immigrant mother with at least one child currently or previously enrolled at a school within the TDSB.
