OCASI’s Initiative to End GBV invites you to an interactive workshop led by METRAC on Wednesday, July 23rd from 1:00-2:30PM EST.

In an increasingly complex world, service providers supporting survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the immigrant and refugee-serving sector face unique and profound challenges. This workshop is designed to empower you with essential tools and insights to navigate the emotional demands of your vital work while fostering personal and professional well-being.

What to expect from this workshop:

This engaging and interactive virtual workshop will delve into the critical intersection of GBV work and mental health. We will explore the profound impact of supporting survivors and equip you to recognize, understand, and address the insidious effects of compassion fatigue, burnout, and vicarious trauma.

Through a blend of insightful discussion and practical strategies, you will discover:

  • Effective self-care strategies, including critical self-care and how self-care can be a powerful form of resistance.
  • Actionable techniques for sustaining your well-being during turbulent times, particularly within the dynamic non-profit and settlement sectors.
  • The transformative power of community care in fostering collective resilience and support.

Join us to enhance your capacity for self-preservation and strengthen the very foundation of your compassionate work. This is more than a workshop; it's an investment in your well-being and the longevity of your invaluable service. We welcome all service providers that work directly and indirectly with survivors of GBV to participate!
