About this Workshop
Front-line settlement work is meaningful, complex, and at times, depleting. Supporting others starts with supporting ourselves. Join us for a two-hour interactive workshop exploring practical strategies for recognizing stress, building resilience, understanding the Window of Tolerance, and fostering both individual and collective wellbeing. Through reflection, discussion, and shared learning, participants will leave with practical tools to support their own wellness and sustain meaningful work in the settlement sector. This session is designed to be engaging and participatory — expect reflection, dialogue, and peer exchange alongside practical takeaways.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the impact of cumulative stress on the body and identify signs that stress may be affecting wellbeing
- Identify practical strategies for building, maintaining, and restoring resilience and capacity in settlement work
- Identify ways to apply the Window of Tolerance framework to recognize and monitor their own emotional responses in real time
- Identify strategies to support staying present and effective with clients and communities
- Describe the role of individual self-care, relational connection, and collective practices in promoting sustainable wellbeing
Registration deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026
